Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Mektić attends a conference in
Budva at which the common approaches and cooperation in the fight against extremism
will be discussed.
Participating in the Panel on Security
Challenges of the Western Balkan Countries, Minister Mektić pointed out the
measures BiH is undertaking in this area, and emphasized the importance of
regional co-operation, information sharing and experiences in combating all
forms of extremism and radical groups that by their actions undermine the
security of the entire region.
The interior ministers of
the countries in the region emphasized the importance of cooperation between
the state and the local level for the successful fight against extremism, along
with regional cooperation. The existing strategies and implementation of the
regional action plans for the fight against violent extremism have been
reviewed as well.
